Symosium

The Symposium venue is the Rotary Youth Camp at Little Grove, about 15 km from the Albany town centre on the Frenchman Bay Road. See the Rotary Club of Albany Port website for more information on the venue.

Saturday 12 January 2013
5:30pm. Instructor and Trip Leader briefing.
6:00pm. Official welcome and participants' briefing.

Sunday 13 January 2013
10am - 2pm at Emu Point. "10 ways to turn your kayak" and "Oh dear, what now" with Brad Allen. 9am Frenchman’s Bay start or leave from camp, follow the coast  then out to the islands and back to Frenchman’s Bay or camp (Sunday and Monday's paddle may switch depending on weather).
10am - 2pm at Emu Point. "Rolling from beginner to expert." Learn to roll or perfect various lay back and forward ending rolls. Instructors Les, Nick, Tony M, Judy.
7pm. Presentation on planning a trip, gear and packing by Les Allen.
Monday 14 January 2013
10am - 2pm at Middleton Beach. "Surviving surf." Learn about surf and surf techniques from novice to expert. Instructors Les, Brad, Nick, Tony M, Tony R. 9am Frenchman’s Bay to Bald Head and back or camp to Middleton Beach and follow the coast eastbound. The weather will decide.

9am Emu Point for a leisurely paddle up the Kalgan River.
7pm. 15 min presentations on some easy trips to do, including Shark Bay, Ningaloo and Dampier Archipelago. Presenters Judy, Brad, Les.
Post-symposium Trips - Tuesday 15 to Friday 18 January 2013
Albany to Walpole Advanced Sea Skills expedition.
Denmark to Walpole Sea Skills expedition.
Day trips in the Nornalup Inlet, Deep and Frankland Rivers.
Friday 18 January at 7pm. Wind-up party at Rest Point Caravan Park.
